Kiwi by adoption since 1996, American-born John Palino is a man who brings energy, determination, and flair to anything he tackles.
Starting out in his Italian father’s New Jersey restaurant when he was a teenager, John went on to build a successful and wide-ranging career in the hospitality industry. This background enabled him to understand that in the service of others, passion, dedication and the strategic blending of resources is what brings clients back for more. His experience establishing and running restaurants and bars both in New Zealand and internationally led to a stint with his own television show on TV3 “The Kitchen Job”, with the aim of helping struggling hospitality establishments all over New Zealand.
He has been proud to put this hospitality expertise in action for charity, planning and executing of a number of successful and memorable Auckland charitable events, With a great sense of community, and an abiding love of his beautiful home city, it seemed a logical step for John to stand for the mayoralty in Auckland back in 2013. He finished a laudable second place with over 110,000 votes.
These days, John’s wealth of experience is a huge asset in the real estate profession. Tapping into his significant connections at all points of the global compass, John believes he brings some unique attributes to the interpersonal experience of transferring property from one party to another. True to his affirmation that you “get the best people you possibly can to work with you and they will give you the information you need to succeed as a leader”, he is proud to acquaint Auckland home-sellers and buyers with the Team Palino way of getting a result.
Business partner Mia Baxter, fluent in English, Hindi and Punjabi and colleague Rose Li, bilingual in Mandarin and English make up the rest of the sales team which operates under the auspices of Ray White Mission Bay with top auctioneer Wayne Maguire at the helm. John’s vision is borne out of his desire to help people succeed and create opportunities. He believes his success managing people and businesses is reflected in the team, assuring his vendors and buyers that they are receiving the gold standard in service delivery backed up by good solid commercial principles. John and Team Palino provide sound real estate expertise, marketing excellence, outstanding negotiating skills and a responsiveness to the community in which they operate.
In his limited spare time, John is still involved with charitable organisations dear to his heart: The Salvation Army, and Lifewise – this latter being an Auckland-based community social development organisation working to turn the lives around of struggling families, older people, people with disabilities, and people suffering homelessness.
John lives in Kohimarama with his partner Rose. He has and always will have a great love of good food, culture and the sharing of ideas with his large circle of friends and family.
